Keyboard Control on App

Hi, we recently purchased 14 drones and we were flying them using keyboard and with coding. Since Chrome shut down your web-based app, we now can not use them for intended purpose. This wouldn’t be so bad IF we could sign in and use keyboard control.

No support offered in other threads for keyboard support.

Sorry for the hassle here. We rolled out a new update of the Desktop app that broke keyboard control. We will have this and the login fixed in the next version that will be available next week. Will post an update when it’s ready. Thanks for your patience.

Just an update that DroneBlocks v1.0.4 is live in the Windows store now and has keyboard support enabled again. Please let us know if you run into any problems. Thank you!

Any info on where keyboard control is located? Ive upgraded to V1.0.4 and cant see how to use key pressed as inputs?

It took me forever to work out - once you are all connected, go to fullscreen mode with the camera (click on the “” icon beside the other camera tools and then use “T” to take off, “space” to land, “W A S D” and “I J K L” to move.

If there is a better way that you’ve found let me know!

@Geurtsena we are really sorry for the hassle here. In the Chrome version of the app we have a little infographic that shows how to use keyboard control. This has not been brought to the desktop version but we need to get that in there. I’m glad you figured it out and thanks for sharing the info in this thread.

Is there any way currently to use keyboard control on a Mac? My students are an even split between Windows and Mac devices.

Hi, yes keyboard control will work on Mac. Go into fullscreen mode when connected to Tello and use the key sequences that @Geurtsena posted above. Let us know if you run into any problems. Thanks
